SBF 128:3 Guidelines fire suppression system on buses

Due to an increase in fires in buses and coaches the insurance companies have stipulated that buses and coaches registered after 2003 be equipped with a fixed fire suppression system, placed in the engine compartment.

Guidelines SBF 128 regulate the design and technical specifications of the systems and further states the requirements of the companies that supply and install them.

The guidelines stipulate that buses and coaches with a total weight of 10 tons or above, registered after December 31 of 2003 be equipped with a fire suppression system in the engine compartment. This is a prerequisite for taking out fire insurance.
